Workstage Named Fastest-Growing Company by Entrepreneur Magazine

The month of May marks the eighth year of business for Workstage.

What better way to celebrate than sharing company with the fastest-growing firms in the nation?

Workstage was named to the Hot 100 list in this month’s issue of Entrepreneur Magazine.

It’s an honor that co-founders John “Jack” Cottrell, Kent Riddle and Donald Slaght attribute to the team’s “unparalleled commitment and passion” as well as to the many partners and clients who “put their trust in us to create work environments that are people-focused, flexible and sustainable.”

Those clients include ADP; Northrop Grumman; Royal Caribbean; PayPal, an eBay Company; and AAA - Automobile Association of America. The company is currently redeveloping a 1.2 million sq. ft. unused mall into a hi-tech, green headquarters for IT hosting provider Rackspace.

Workstage ranks 68 on the list for its rapid sales growth, positive job growth and benefits package and is in the top 25 for revenue. The firm was the only Michigan-based company to be ranked.

The development and design/build firm was founded in 2000 by Cottrell, Riddle and Slaght together with venture partners Steelcase, Inc. and Gale International.

It has grown from 4 employees to 55 real estate, design and construction professionals with offices in Grand Rapids, Chicago, Roseland (NJ) and Jacksonville (FL). Projects are currently underway in Texas, Connecticut, Washington, Georgia, Florida, Montana and Michigan.
